Kristina Haghdan, who had seven strikeouts in five innings, and Margaret Bragdon combined on a no-hitter as Phillips Academy blanked Brooks 9-0. The only baserunner for Brooks reached on an error.

For PMA at the league meet, Sean Toomey placed sixth in the mile (5:07), Erin Henrick was sixth in the 100 hurdles (19.2) and Liliana Foucault triple jumped 32-2 to advance to the EMass. championships.

Brother act

Brothers Dan and Joe Morin combined for six RBI as the the Night Owls cruised to a 9-0 win. Nick Comei had two hits and two runs. Winning pitcher Evan Penney got relief help from Alex Sprague and Eddie Souci.

Erin Gallo, making her first start since being sidelined in March, struck out 17 and threw a 3-hitter in a 9-1 win over BB&N. Hillary Dole hits two home runs for the Big Blue (10-2) and Pelham's Kristina Haghdan went 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs.

Phillips no-hits BB&N

Phillips' Kristina Haghdan pitched five innings of hitless ball, and then Erin Gallo came in and shut the door the rest of the way as the pair combined to no-hit BB&N in Saturday's 11-1 win. The game was tied 1-1 after the first, with BB&N scoring by virtue of a handful of walks, but then the Big Blue got 10 runs in the third inning.

Phillips streak snapped

 

The 22-game winning streak by the Phillips Academy softball team came to an end when it gave up two unearned runs in the seventh in a 2-1 loss to St. Paul's. That made Rutgers commit Taryn Collins a winner over Kristina Haghdan, who struck out 13 and allowed just three hits.
