ARLINGTON — Ali Rodriguez made 13 saves, including two outstanding stops to keep her team in the game, but No. 14 North Andover could not score the upset, falling to No. 3 Arlington in the Division 2 North girls soccer first round on Thursday.

North Andover's girls soccer team nearly had an upset of the state's No. 10 team, once-beaten Peabody, but a late goal left the Knights (7-5-4) with a 2-2 tie. Rebecca Harty and Mary O'Connor scored for the Knights and Abbie Karalis had two assists.

In the 72nd minute, Abbie Karalis took a pass from Mary O'Connor and chipped one up and over the Chelmsford goalie, breaking a 1-1 tie and giving North Andover the 2-1 victory.

Rebecca Harty and Abbie Karalis each scored two goals as the North Andover girls soccer team beat Lowell 4-0.

With seven minutes to play, Abbie Karalis broke a 2-2 tie and gave North Andover a 3-2 win over Andover. It was the second goal of the night for Karalis, who assisted on the other North Andover goal, by Samantha Neyman.

Abbie Karalis netted the hat-trick, making it five goals in the early going, as North Andover tore through Billerica, 4-1.

NORTH ANDOVER — At seemingly every turn, the Andover girls soccer team had an answer for their counterparts from North Andover. Twice the Scarlet Knights tied the score, and twice the Golden Warriors came right back with a goal to retake the lead.

Then North Andover played its trump card.
