Aria Tate and Genesis Santana each scored 14 points but No. 12-seed Lawrence dropped its Division 1 North girls basketball first round matchup to No. 5-seeded Revere 72-53. 

Super sophomore Alyssa Casey scored a career-high 30 points to power Andover past Lawrence 78-45. Andover clinched a share of MVC Division 1 title. Billerica could earn share with a win over North Andover Thursday.

Lawrence had some foul problems so 5-3 Janel Guillermo played center late in the game and her all-around play was key in a 50-49 overtime win against Dracut. "She was immense," said coach Dan Blouin. Genesis Santana scored 21 points including all four LHS points in OT. Karla Dominguez added 10 points in a game that featured 59 fouls and lasted two hours.

Lawrence knocked off Central Catholic 50-45 to earn two huge milestones.
It clinched a state tourney berth for the surprising Lancers (10-4) and 11th-year head coach Dan Blouin said it was the first time LHS has beaten the Raiders in the 19 years Central has had girls varsity basketball.
"I'm pretty positive we've never beaten them," said Blouin. "To qualify for states is huge."
Aria Tate (24 points, 4 3 pointers) and the Lancers jumped to a big early lead as Central, which dropped to 2-12 in a rare difficult season, trailed 25-7 at the half.
The Raiders, who have two state titles on their gaudy resume (2013, 2009),  clawed back but couldn't overtake the Lancers.
Blouin said of the sharp-shooting junior Tate, "When she's on, she's on."
Returning Eagle-Tribune All-Star Genesis Santana dished out 12 assists and Kinadra Vasquez netted nine points in the win.

Genesis Santana continues to score at high rates. She poured in 18 points to lift Lawrence 55-47 over Methuen in MVC girls basketball action.

Genesis Santana scored 17 points and Aria Tate 11 points as Lawrence girls basketball rolled 56-44 over Lowell to improve to 5-2.

NORTH ANDOVER — Lawrence junior Aria Tate's NBA-range 3-pointer to beat the first-quarter buzzer was one of several highlights during her game-high 21-point effort against Methuen.

Lawrence's girls nailed eight 3-pointers in a 49-44 victory over Everett. Aria Tate led with four trifectas and 15 points.
