Nasser near perfect

Ravenne Nasser of Methuen came within two outs of pitching a perfect game but happily settled for her second win of the season, as Phillips defeated host Worcester Academy, 7-2.
Worcester's lineup had no answer for Nasser, managing just two hits in the seventh when the outcome had been all but decided. Nasser (2-0) allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out six during her seven innings of work.
Kayla Maloney of Windham led the way offensively, going a perfect 5-5 day at the plate. She homered in the third inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
