Sanborn rally falls short

Down 3-1, Sanborn rallied to cut it to 3-2, falling just short in a second round, Division 3 playoff boys soccer loss to Prospect Mountain. Steven O'Callaghan had both goals for the Indians.
"We had a great chance to tie with 8 seconds left too," said coach Al Magnusson. "It just wasn't meant to be."

Sanborn 2, Farmington 1

At halftime, Sanborn soccer coach Al Magnusson told his squad that the best way to beat the Farmington defense was to play the ball into the offensive corner then cross into the box for a clean shot. About 20 minutes into the half, the Indians tried the strategy and succeeded as Sean Foster's feed from the corner found Jordan Johnson wide open behind the goalie. The senior found the mark for the game-winner in a 2-1 victory.

Fantastic finish

Steven O'Callaghan set the stage with a great drive to the net and Jordan Johnson made it pay off with the game-winner in overtime as Sanborn soccer came back for a 2-1 win over Somersworth. The Indians are now unbeaten in six straight games for the first time in four years.

Upset victory

Steven O'Callaghan, Abe Scully and Jordon Johnson each scored one goal as Sanborn upset Pelham 3-2 in boys soccer. Sanborn improved to 4-3-1 and Pelham dropped to 7-3.

Indians hold on

 

Ahead 3-2 at halftime, the Sanborn boys soccer team held off Hillsboro to win by the same score yesterday, improving to 3-3. Steven O'Callahan scored twice sandwiched around a goal by Jordan Johnson. Andrew Gasse and Brendan Mahoney keyed the defense.
