After trailing for much of a rainy afternoon, Haverhill got a two-run homer from J.T. Ruth in the top of the seventh inning to draw even with Whittier, then had Zach Evans follow with a single that brought home pinch runner Matt McIntosh with the game-winner in a 4-3 victory. George Gouthier and Paul Mahoney had the key hits in Whittier's three-run second inning.

Brendon Bretton went 3 for 3 with a homer and two RBI and Nick Comei tossed a shutout as Haverhill clinched a playoff spot with a 3-0 victory over Everett.

Brendon Bretton struck out 11, surrendering one earned run on five hits as Haverhill earned a spot in the post season for the first time since 2009. Senior Zach Evans had two RBIs and two runs scored for the Hillies.

Tyler Houde threw a complete game one-hit shutout and struck out seven batters while walking two as Haverhill baseball won 9-0 over Tewksbury.
