CAMBRIDGE — Rachel Moore shed a few tears while huddling with teammates Ashlee Korsberg, Alexa Korsberg and Maggie D'Innocenzo before swimming the 400 freestyle relay yesterday.

The power outtages in Andover prevented the Andover High swim team from practicing for an entire week, but the Golden Warriors were still able to surge to victory in the MVC Division 1 championship last night with 549 points.

Maggie Franklin stood out for Haverhill winning the 50 freestyle, the 100 breaststroke and taking part on two winning relays as the Hillies defeated Central Catholic 99-69 to finish the regular season at 8-2.

Moran, Raiders hold on

Central Catholic won the final relay to clinch a 94-90 win over Billerica. Brianna Bickley, Alex Hennessy, Jackie Russolillo and Courtney Smith swam on the winning relay. Sydney Moran was the Raiders' Swimmer of the Meet.

Historic day for Methuen

 Kerry Lennon won the 200 IM and the 500 freestyle, then had a part in Methuen's meet-clinching win the 400 freestyle relay.  Lennon's efforts helped Methuen to a 94-92 win ver Central Catholic, the Rangers' first-eve win over the Raiders.
