The power outtages in Andover prevented the Andover High swim team from practicing for an entire week, but the Golden Warriors were still able to surge to victory in the MVC Division 1 championship last night with 549 points.

"We were out of the water for a week," said Andover coach Marilyn Fitzgerald. "So we were happy with the points we could get and how well we swam."

Reigning All-Scholastic Rachel Moore again led the Golden Warriors, winning the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and swimming on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay. Maggie D'Innocenzo added a win in the 500 freestyle and swam on the victorious 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay. 

Sarah Broderick led Haverhill, winning the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle while Michelle Galanos of Central Catholic won the diving.
