Cheam scores in Pelham loss

PEMBROKE — Pembroke improved to 2-5 with a convincing 54-6 win over Pelham.

The Pythons got on the board late when Kevin Cheam hauled in an 18-yard scoring aerial from co-captain John Bourk.

Pelham upset bid denied by Goffstown

PELHAM — John Bourk rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown, but Pelham couldn’t keep up with Goffstown and dropped a 37-16 decision. Goffstown (5-0) scored 31 points in the third quarter to overturns Pelham’s 14-6 halftime advantage. Pelham (0-5) took a 13-0 lead on first half touchdowns by Devin DeCarteret (2-yard run) and Bourk (1-yard run) before Goffstown exploded in the third with four touchdowns and a safety. Pelham hosts Alvirne on Friday (7 p.m.).

Pelham scores late to avoid shutout

John Bourk scored from five yards out in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late for the Pelham in a 41-7 loss at Portsmouth. The Pythons (0-3) host Hollis-Brookline on Oct. 1 (6 p.m.) during homecoming weekend.

Bedford, Pelham

BEDFORD — Jordan Garron scored on the second play from scrimmage and Bedford was off and running to a 62-0 romp over Pelham.

Garron, the grandson of former Patriots star Larry Garron, carried six times for 100 yards and scored two times. James Caparell scored twice and threw for a score as the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.
