Presentation of Mary's volleyball team ran into powerhouse Lynnfield in yesterday's Division 3 quarterfinals and was no match, falling hard in three straight games.

Catherine Muldoon served 10 straight pionts wtih five aces in th final set as Presentation of Mary held off Fellowship Christian is a 3-2 decision, in the first round of the Division 3 North tourey.  The Panthers move on to play No. 1 Lynnfield on Monday (7 p.m.).

Former Haverhill High standout Pat Fullerton continued his road racing success Sunday, winning the Bobby Bell road race in 25:47 for five miles, nearly two minutes ahead of runner-up Peter Najem. It's Fullerton's third road race title within the last six weeks.

Angie Tran had eight service points, including seven aces. One of those aces was the 30th point in the final game which Fellowship Christian volleyball won 30-28 over PMA.

Whittier got tons of quality serving to sweep PMA with three identical 25-19 scores. Destiny Jordan was exceptional with 16 service pojnts and 10 aces. Cassie Glode served 10 straight points at one critical juncture, adding 17 digs, while Kaitlin McHugh shined defensively.

Despite a fine one-over par shot by Nick Pandelena of Atkinson, the St. John's Prep golf team lost its first match of the season, 226-233 to Barnstable.

 PMA got stellar work from Valerie Tellier, Catherine Muldoon and Samantha Fox in a 3-0 volleyball romp over Fellowship.
