Catherine Muldoon served 10 straight pionts wtih five aces in th final set as Presentation of Mary held off Fellowship Christian is a 3-2 decision, in the first round of the Division 3 North tourey.  The Panthers move on to play No. 1 Lynnfield on Monday (7 p.m.).

Merrimack goalie cited

 

Following his first career start in which he earned a shutout and added an assist, sophomore Merrimack College goaltender Sam Marotta was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week.

Marotta made 25 saves in a 5-0 win over Connecticut Saturday. He notched his first collegiate assist after stopping a short-handed breakaway which resulted in a goal by Jeff Velleca.

Tran tops PMA

Angie Tran had eight service points, including seven aces. One of those aces was the 30th point in the final game which Fellowship Christian volleyball won 30-28 over PMA.

Trailing 14-11, Destiny Jordan served for the final five points to power Whittier to a marathon 25-23, 19-25, 25-15, 21-25, 16-14 win over Fellowship. Cassey Glode (30 digs) was the defensive star.
