Fellowship Christian's dream season continued with a clutch performance in the Division 3 North volleyball quarterfinals last night with Austin Prep. "I'm really proud of the girls," said coach Correne Chodakowski after watching her Rams douse the Cougars in four games. "Last year, we graduated six seniors, including four starters. It's just awesome to see their effort rewarded by a trip to the (North) semifinals. Chelsea Kirmelewicz was all over the floor, crunching 22 kills with five blocks and 24 digs. Angie Tran ran off seven straight service points on her way to a team-high 16 points with five aces.

Sisters of Fellowship

Fellowship Christian Academy's volleyball squad easily defeated Chelsea, 3-0, with half of the Rams' third-game lineup featuring the Kirmelewicz family.

Sisters Chelsea, a senior with a team-high 5 kills, 9th grader Jenna (7 service points with an ace) and 7th grader Molly all saw action in a game won by FCA, 25-16.

The combination of Christi Morimizu's seven straight service points and Chelsea Kirmelewicz's strong net play turned a moribund Fellowship Christian start into a 3-1 volleyball victory over Whittier (now 7-5). Senior Bethany Dyer's suffocating defense and 17 digs played a key role as well for the Rams (10-1).

High Five for Janinski

Greater Lawrence Tech senior forward Matt Janinski scores six goals, five in the second half to lead the Reggies to a 9-5 win over Fellowship. Janinski already had three of the first five goals, with the score tied at 5-5 in the second half, he scored the next 3 goals to put the game away. First year coach Dick Coakley said, "You really had to be here to see it" he added "Sometimes it is your day and today was Matt's."

Chelsea Kirmelewicz was everything for Fellowship Christian, who won an early battle of volleyball unbeatens by sweeping past Shawsheen, 3-0. The senior led the Rams with 10 kills and 2 blocks while also pitching in 8 service poins and 6 aces. Strong net play and defense from Angie Tran and Bethany Dyer paid dividends as well for Fellowship (3-0).
