Sanborn drops OT thirller

Sanborn's Jess Plante scored with 13 minutes to go off an assist from Abby Smith to send the game into overtime, but the No. 11 Indians fell to No. 6 Lebanon 2-1 yesterday in the New Hampshire Division 2 first round. Goalie Amanda Turco starred for Sanborn with 17 saves.

Richard runs the show

Midfielder Emily Richard made a lot of good things happen defensively and created a lot of opportunities offensively as Sanborn edged a pesky Pelham team in soccer, 2-0. Freshmen Lauren Anderson and Brook Paradis played exceptionally well for the Pythons with three shots each on net.

Senior Ellen Rislove, a four-year starting fullback, scored her first career goal on a rebound of a corner kick. That helped lift Sanborn soccer to a 3-0 win over Portsmouth. Kerri Phillips scored twice.

First hat trick

 

 Sanborn sophomore Danielle Jongsman recorded her first hat trick as the Indians blanked Epping 4-0. Jess Plante had a goal and two assists for the Indians (5-3), who outshot Epping by a whopping 28-2 margin.

Battle of attrition

Starting goalie Amanda Turco suffered a concussion and Hannah Nofsker injured a knee but Sanborn soccer pressed on with just 12 totlal players and beat Raymond 2-1. Lauren Mahoney, a field player, came on for Turco and stopped four shots.
