Down 7, Astros win

EXETER — Pinkerton seemed down for the count but the Astros used a huge rally to beat Exeter, 10-8 in extra innings.

Trailing 7-0, Pinkerton (9-7) struck for four runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Andrew Curran, Ryan Feeney (2 runs) and Kruz Komaridis. The visitors took the lead the following inning on Feeney's 350-foot grand slam over the left-field fence.

Stevens' sacrifice saves Salem

SALEM — Senior pinch hitter Zach Stevens' sacrifice fly scored Joe DiPalma in the bottom of the sixth and ace Nick Poore fired two shutout innings of relief as Salem shaded Exeter 8-7.

Sophomore Joe Lemenager collected two hits, walked once, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs to power the offense for the 5-1 Blue Devils.
