NORTH SUTTON — Early in the first quarter Friday night, Kevin Bodenrader blocked a punt and Alex Carroll recovered it in the end zone for the touchdown. The onslaught had begun and Pelham led 52-0 early in the third quarter. The backups then got plenty of playing time as the Pythons (3-0) drubbed Kearsarge 52-8. Pelham carried 38 times for 193 yards and didn't attempt a single pass against the now 0-2 hosts. Jake Travis scored three times while Ethan Demmons scored twice. Pelham, which has outscored the opposition 154-21, hosts winless ConVal (0-3) Friday at 7 p.m. 

Pelham golf edged Plymouth by a point in a quad-meet at Campbell's Scottish Highlands, and Russ Hamel's even-par 35 for 27 points was a big reason why. Trailing by a point after the first four golfers came through, Colby Walsh and Peter Gamache both carded 43s to put the Pythons ahead.

Mikey Gendreau got his first varsity action on the mound Friday ... with the bases loaded and one out trying to save a 10-8 game. But the Pelham sophomore got the tense final two outs to close out the win for the Pythons.

Danielle Sirois scored 16 points and Olivia Gagnon added 11 as Pelham opened the season with a 53-31 win over Kearsarge.

Heavyweight Devan Demelo recorded his first win of the season, a second-period pin, to lift Pelham to its first victory, 36-30 over Kearsarge.

John Morris connected on 8 of his 12 passes, including two touchdowns, to lead Sanborn to a 20-10 victory over Kearsarge.

"Morris did a great job directing our offense tonight," said John Welch. "He made some key throws when we needed them."

Kevin DeAngelo dominated on faceoffs, winning 18 of 21 yesterday in Pelham's 15-4 lacrosse victory over Kearsarge. "On the season, he's at about 83 percent," said head coach Matt Regan. "He's an absolute machine."

Pelham, which went 22-0 in the regular season, placed third at Division 3 States. The Pythons' top golfers were: 3. Jake Vaiknoras 79, 8. Nick Neary 82, 10. Alex Newton 84

NORTH SUTTON, N.H. — Pelham fell behind early at Kearsarge and never recovered, dropping a 49-13 decision on the road.
Kevin Cheam rambled 80 yards for a first-quarter score, and Chris Benjamin pounded in from one-yard out for the other.
Pelham falls to 1-4, while Kearsarge bumps up to 4-1.


 

Ali Connors, Kayla Breton and Courtney Sweeney combined for seven second-half goals to lift undefeated Windham to the Division 3 state championship with a 15-10 victory over Kearsage Regional.

The top-seeded Jaguars (18-0) blew open a deadlocked game with five goals the first 12 minutes after intermission, then fended off a late rally by the Cougars.
