NORTH SUTTON — Early in the first quarter Friday night, Kevin Bodenrader blocked a punt and Alex Carroll recovered it in the end zone for the touchdown. The onslaught had begun and Pelham led 52-0 early in the third quarter. The backups then got plenty of playing time as the Pythons (3-0) drubbed Kearsarge 52-8. Pelham carried 38 times for 193 yards and didn't attempt a single pass against the now 0-2 hosts. Jake Travis scored three times while Ethan Demmons scored twice. Kevin Cheam rambled 80 yards for a first-quarter score, and Chris Benjamin pounded in from one-yard out for the other.
Pelham falls to 1-4, while Kearsarge bumps up to 4-1.
Ali Connors, Kayla Breton and Courtney Sweeney combined for seven second-half goals to lift undefeated Windham to the Division 3 state championship with a 15-10 victory over Kearsage Regional.
The top-seeded Jaguars (18-0) blew open a deadlocked game with five goals the first 12 minutes after intermission, then fended off a late rally by the Cougars.
