With three of the top four finishers, St. Thomas Aquinas won the 15-team Jamie Martin Invitational at Sanborn Regional. Steven Hammar and Brandon Hannon helped Pelham place second, while Colby Putnam chopped 30 seconds from his personal best as Windham's top finisher. Shane Waters was the leading runner for the host school.

Jed Magnusson recorded assist No. 29 of his career. One more will put him into the New Hampshire state record book, coach Al Magnusson said. Jed helped Sanborn earn a 2-2 tie against Epping. 

Cara Carter's three-run triple sparked Sanborn on its way to 13-1 five-inning drubbing of Epping. Morgan Farmer and Nicole Foster each added two-run doubles.

 A pair of local Plymouth State University student-athletes have been honored by the Little East Conference.

Plymouth State freshman Jennifer Samaro from Salem, N.H., was named Little East Conference Rookie Swimmer of the Week, and former Pinkerton standout Ryan Lambert, a junior from Derry, was selected to the LEC Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Marissa Moro scored 11 points to help Sanborn erase a five-point halftime deficit, beat Epping 28-23 and advance to the Farmington Christmas Tourney championship game today at 2 p.m.

A sterling second half separated Sanborn from Epping and led to a 42-30 game-one victory. Cara Carter (12 points) and Nicole Foster owned the backboards and Marissa Moro (12 points) was a strong contributor to a balanced offense.

PELHAM N.H. — Continuing to show the big play abiliy in all three phases of the game, Pelham rolled to a 38-0 stomping of winless Epping in its last regular season game before the playoffs. Not only did Pelham connect on several big plays, they did so in timely fashion during key moments of the game.

Returning Eagle-Tribune All-Star Morgan Farmer slammed three triples and knocked in four runs in a 9-0 Sanborn rout of Epping. Lydia Colbert threw a three-hitter for the win for the Indians, striking out 10.

Andy Nelson threw a complete game one-hitter as Sanborn downed Epping 5-2. Steve DiChiara's home run in the seventh put the game out of reach.

With Sanborn trailing by two with time expiring, Robbie Ficker drew a foul at half court — while attempting a prayer of a shot — and got himself to the line for three free throw attempts. In a true storybook finish, Ficker nailed all three to seal the 56-55 win over Epping, although the second one did rattle around the rim a bit, according to coach Bob Ficker, Robbie's father. Joe Eudenbach nailed six 3-pointers en route to a 20-point night.
