Andover completed the first perfect regular season in modern history with a 6-0 win over Haverhill. Jill Manning scored 44 seconds into the game, and six Golden Warriors scored altogether. Complete Eagle-Tribune records go back through 1989 and in that span this was Andover's first perfect regular season.
"After last year, I thought that was the most solid team I ever had," said 13th year Golden Warrior coach Maureen Noone. "We were so solid defensively. I looked at this year as a rebuilding year. The younger kids who stepped in did just a phenomenal job. I didn't think they'd be able to. I lucked out with (co-starting goalie) Sarah Tully transferring from soccer. She's probably as good as any goalie in the league."
