PMA defender Lauren Letendre had a cyst removed during the school day yesterday and then played in PMA soccer game after school.
"She's like my unsung hero," PMA coach Kristin Huberdeau said.
Letendre added: "The past couple days I was in pain, but when I got it done (had the cyst removed), it was immediate relief, and I was ready to play."
Giving Letendre some occasional rests was freshman Emma Smith who was receiving her first significant varsity minutes.
"They switched off and did a phenomenal job on defense," Huberdeau said.
Letendre added about Smith: "She did a really good. She did the same thing I did: she kept the defense up and went in strong. She's a freshman. She did a really good job marking her player."
