Freshman Mikayla Hickey charged towards the net and fired a shot that was saved, but fellow freshman Jill Lane gathered in the rebound and beat the goalie with eight seconds left in regulation to give Central Catholic a 1-0 win over Billerica.
"We really needed this one to stay in the MVC race," said Raiders coach Anne Marinaro. "Lane has kept us in games all season."
The goal was Lane's team-best seventh on the season. Kelley Mikus, Gia O'Connor and Marielle Elie also stood out for Central.
