North Andover made its way to Winchester for yesterday's Division 2 first round game agains the Sachems, but the contest never took place.

The game was moved to Monday (5 p.m. at Winchester) due to a Winchester town event.

As the teams were preparing to play, the Winchester fire marshall decided that they needed more time to set up last night's fireworks display and postponed the game.  The fireworks set up area was right on the lacrosse field.

Despite the disappointment, North Andover head coach Steve Connolly took the news in stride and began his focus on having his team prepared for Monday.

"It isn't anyone's fault It was an official safety hazard thing," said Connolly.  "It is just one of those things that happened.  It is pain to have to go back but it is just one of those things and not a life and death situation.  We are going to go down and play the game on Monday."  

Originally the two teams discussed playing on Friday, although that was never officially scheduled.  But Winchester had a girls' lacrosse tourney game and they did not feel they could get both in during daylight.
