Winning now while planning ahead seems to be working for Londonderry. All 20 of its field players saw equal time in an 18-3 victory over Salem while three goaltenders helmed the Astro net.
"Our eight seniors are coming out strong and helping to get some playing time for our underclassmen," Pinkerton head coach Bob Slater said. "That's going to help us now and give the younger players valuable experience for the future."
Senior Marcie Marino led a balanced Astro attack with four goals and an assist while sophomore Jersey Burns, whose hustle was appreciated by Salem head coach Faith Wahlen, led the Blue Devils with a pair of goals.
"Jersey really played well," Wahlen said. "She was all over the place."
