Running without top runners Jared Reddy and Ben Pare, both of whom are battling the flu, Methuen's boys cross country team still finished eighth among 36 teams in the Division 1 race at the McIntyre Invitational.
MVC rival Lowell finished first with 143 points, 13 ahead of runner-up Westboro, while Methuen checked in with 261 points. Andover was 17th and Central Catholic came in 29th.
Andrew Stamatopoulos led Methuen and all local runners, finishing 14th in 16:46,8, while Andover's Scott Waller (16:59.4) and Methuen's Tyler Sullivan (16:59.8) finished 18-19.
In the Division 2 race, Whittier Tech's Bryan Stanley came in eighth with a time of 16:49.4.
