In a tightly contested match with Ipswich, Newburyport swept the doubles with Charlie Knowlton and Ryan Keene (6-2, 6-2) taking down first doubles and Hunter Sebrook along with Tony Dube (7-5, 6-0) won in second doubles.
With the match coming down to No. 1 singles, Nick Filipancic gave Ipswich's Matt Burke a terrific battle (6-4, 2-6 , 7-6 (5-7)), but eventually succumbed. Clipper coach Neil Reardon said Ipswich was just a little tougher on the meaningful points.
