There is always something to work on.

After blasting winless North Shore, 44-8, Georgetown now faces a trio of teams (Northeast, Chelsea and Minuteman) with a combined 1-17 record before meeting Manchester Essex Thanksgiving morning for the Commonwealth Conference small school title and a Super Bowl berth. But head coach Matt Blanchard will use this opportunity to keep his troops on the winning path while adapting his substitutes to varsity-level competition.

"Anytime you're winning, in my opinion, two things can happen | kids that lose their focus, or if you're satisfied with where you're at, you feel you've hit a plateau," Blanchard explained. "If we continue to get better every day, we'll be fine.

"Our backbone is position-specific execution and, as we rotate in our younger guys, it's making sure they know what the heck they're doing. There's not a lot of guys on our sidelines. Our goal is to keep guys healthy and give the young guys some time."

Against the Bulldogs, Georgetown handled its rain-soaked field efficiently while its opponent struggled for production.

"Our practice field is solid mud and we had to get used to it early in the week," Royal guard Jeff Rollins said. "We prepped well, knew our assignments and had the proper footwork."

Consistently blocking well downfield, Rollins was a key factor in a running game that piled up 280 yards and six touchdowns.

Senior Brandon Wade was the statistical superstar with 149 yards and two TDs rushing, adding five pass receptions for another 87 yards, five point-after kicks and a 28-yard field goal. Sophomore Tyran Harrigan stepped in at halfback and quarterback to add 71 ground yards and two scores plus a pair of pass completions, while starting QB Joe Esposito had two rushing touchdowns and a perfect 4 for 4 day passing for 69 yards.

Defensively, sophomore linebacker Andrew Sinkewicz lived in the North Shore backfield with a sack and two other tackles for negative yardage. Harrigan had five stops and defended a pair of Bulldog passes.
