Juan Ventura's two-out, two-run single in the top of the seventh scored two runs to propel Lawrence to a thrilling 9-8 win over Dracut — claiming the Merrimack Valley small division championship for the Lancers.

Ventura singled on a 3-2 pitch to score Mike Calzetta and Victor Mendez with the game-tying and go-ahead runs. 

Clinging to a one-run lead, shortstop Harvey Blanco kept Lawrence's lead with a diving stop to keep the ball in the infield and the potential tying run on third. Blanco had a two-run homer

 

 

Losing 8-7 Juan Ventura singled with two outs. to score Mike Calzetta and Daniel Mendez.
