Not only is Pelham's boys' lacrosse team off to its best start ever, it also already achieved the program's highest win total in its five-year history. With an 11-2 decision over winless Stevens, the Pythons are now 5-0, a dramatic change from last season's 2-12 mark.
"The team as a whole has really improved," third-year head coach Matt Regan said. "They've played all winter long and it has really made a difference. Plus we have probably the best goalie in the division that's saved 50 of 62 shots so far."
Andrew Keegan, a four-year varsity performer, shut out Stevens into the fourth quarter and has only allowed 12 goals this year.
