ASHBURNHAM | Phillips Academy scored 21 points in the second quarter on its way to an easy 34-6 victory over Cushing Academy, keeping the Big Blue undefeated (4-0).
Former Pinkerton Academy standout Bryan Farris completed 13 of 24 passes for two touchdowns and 286 yards, with Mike Ciummei catching seven balls for 149 yards and a TD. Dan Evans and Whittier Tech grad Thane Sanford (8 carries, 71 yards) chipped in with rushing touchdowns.
Cushing scored its lone TD on a 90-yard kickoff return in the second quarter, but Chad Hollis brought the ensuing kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown.
Peter Schock and Evans both had seven tackles to lead the defense and Corbin Tognoni of Andover had two interceptions. Phillips hosts Northfield Mt. Hermon at 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
