ANDOVER | And the beat goes on for Derry's Bryan Farris, Haverhill's Thane Sanford and Andover's Corbin Tognoni.
Farris was 11-of-15 throwing for 226 yards and three touchdowns to lead Phillips Academy to a 21-7 victory over Worcester Academy yesterday in a game that was postponed a day due to rain.
Former Whittier standout Sanford paced the defense with nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. He added 13 rushing yards. Andover's Corbin Tognoni chipped in with six tackles, and knocked down two passes.
"We are happy to get a victory heading into the (Phillips) Exeter week," said Big Blue coach Leon Modeste. "It was awkward to have a game on the Sunday before Exeter, but we got through it. And it was better than playing in that monsoon."
Farris connected with Luke Miller on a 7-yard TD, and Mike Ciummei on a 22-yard score. He also kicked an extra point and passed for a two-point conversion.
The Big Blue (6-1) travel to archrival Phillips Exeter (5-2) Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
