Kortney DiPerno had a game-high 17 points and Megan Robertson pulled down a whopping 14 rebounds in addition to racking up five points to lead Phillips Academy, now 1-1, to a 49-39 win over New Hampton.
Clinging to a two-point lead at the end of the first half, the Big Blue allowed New Hampton to claw back into it as they fell into a two-point deficit several minutes into the second half. That wouldn't stand for long, however, as Phillips would go on to outscore New Hampton by seven points in the second half alone. New Hampton opens the season at 0-1.
Also playing well in the win were Laura Amorosa (14 points, one 3-pointer) and Jasmine Hardy (nine points, one 3-pointer).
