The Newburyport Clippers (3-11) were unable to dig themselves out a first half hole, and Wilmington coasted to a 65-47 victory. Bruce Pollard (10 points, 3 rebounds), Nick Welch (10 points, 4 rebounds), and Pat Reynolds (2 points, 5 rebounds) all played well for the Clippers.
"I thought we competed in the first quarter," said Clipper coach Tom L'Italien, "but they made a run and we never able to get back into the game."
