Trailing Billerica by three points heading into the final event, the 4x400 relay, Methuen's girls tracksters edged the Indians by one second to prevail with a 44-42 victory. Jenni Pappas gave the Rangers the lead with a strong third leg and Anne Bajor held on for the win.
"Both teams stacked the relay and it was really close," said Methuen coach Jennifer Kravitz. "It was a big win for us."
Dash and hurdles winners Josie Aiyeku and Caitlin Pandolph respectively, were also on that relay.
