Knotted at 1-1 at the close of the first half, Methuen needed someone to step up to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Well, two people accepted the challenge, both of them freshmen. Kristy Erickson scored the winner, and Alex Levesque netted two of her three goals in the second half for a little added insurance.
"We have one more game," said coach Peter Kitsos. "Everyone played well, and the freshmen kept the hope alive. Now, if we beat Chelmsford on Thursday, we make States. Obviously, I hope we make it."
Goalie Rebecca Caterino added three saves to help the Rangers improve to 7-8-2.
Goals: M — Alex Levesque 3, Kristy Erickson
