Epping — The lingering question of the week was if Bruce Vieira was healthy or not?

Next week no such questions will be asked as Vieira ran for 119 yards on just 12 carries as he scored three times to lead Pelham over Epping 43-0.

After leaving last weeks game in the second half with an apparent injury, Vieira showed no signs of any lingering injury, leading the charge as Pelham pounded out 232 yards on the ground

"He did exactly what we expected him to do," said coach Tom Babaian. "He's a player."

Vieira got started early, scoring on Pelhams first possession of the game from 23 yards out. Vieira then scored his second touchdown on the next drive on a 1-yard plunge.

"The offensive line was moving bodies today," said Babaian "They were really moving people up front."

Early in the second quarter, a botched fake by Epping in its own territory gave Pelham the ball in good field position. Pelham then gave Vieira the ball four straight times covering before Vieira charged up the middle of the defense from 15 yards and giving Pelham a commanding 22-0 lead.

Python Quarterback Joe DeAngelo then went to the air, completing two passes on the following posession, the second of which found wideout Sean Sweeney wide open down the sideline for a 23-yard score.

Up 36 at the half, the Python first unit only played one possession in the second half, scoring for the final time on a long drive that culminated in a Warren Greenhalgh 4-yard touchdown run on first down.

Pelhams defense also played extremely well, limiting Epping to only 67 yards on the ground. The defense also provided a touchdown when Conor McColgan scooped up a fumble and ran it into the endzone late first.

"I though we did what we needed to today," said Babaian, "now we have to gear up for the playoffs."
