WALLINGFORD, Conn — Phillips ran into the buzzsaw that is perrenial power Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday, falling 51-8.
Phillips (1-2) struggled to move the ball, only gaining 163 total yards of offense.
Post-grad Sal Lupoli had the only Phillips' touchdown on a 3-yard run in the second quarter that made it a 14-8 game at the time. But Choate (3-0) scored the next 37 points to punctuate the blowout.
Both Lupoli and Jack Kuno had eight tackles to lead the defense.
Phillips is on a bye this week and will be at Suffield Academy on Saturday, Oct., 20 for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
