EXETER — Windham fell short in a defensive battle against rugged Exeter, falling 10-6.
The Blue Hawks (2-2) struck first on a 24-yard field goal from Sam Wolff late in the second quarter, making it a 3-0 game at the half.
Exeter added to its lead early in the fourth when back Jason Edmiston broke off a 67-yard TD to make it 10-0. Windham (2-2) fought back, making it a 10-6 game when Cody Potter hit Riley Desmarais for a 6-yard TD with 1:44 left, but the Jaguars couldn't get the ball back.
Tommy Emrick led the way rushing with 58 yards on seven carries. Potter finished 10 of 19 passing for 175 yards and a TD.
Windham is at Londonderry (3-1) next Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
