LAWRENCE — Greater Lawrence quarterback Jose Caceras was a man possessed.
He rushed for three touchdowns in the second half alone, and threw for another in the first half to fuel the Reggies 37-8 victory over Austin Prep Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium. He finished with 170 yards on the ground and another 63 through the air.
Austin Prep scored first in the second quarter, but Caceres found Ronaldo Aries on a 34-yard strike with 40 seconds left in the first half.
After the break, it was all Caceres.
The junior rushed for touchdowns of 1, 5 and 10 yards, and also converted a pair of 2-point conversions with his legs.
Defensively, Gio Covino was a standout, and Jeremy Torres made two interceptions.
Greater Lawrence will be at Hamilton-Wenham Saturday at 10 a.m.
