Although short-handed due to illness, Whittier placed fifth at the State Vocational thanks to titles by Dan Madigan at 170 and heavyweight Conrad Ortega, who had four pins. Also for the Wildcats, freshman Sam Wallace and Sal Fonzo were runners-up.

For Greater Lawrence, which was sixth, Malib Pastrana was first at 182 and both Luis Torres (113) and David White (170) were second).
