Odds and ends: The Panthers have been first or second in the CAC the last four years, but they lost a superb senior class of 11 players that included four-year starting pitcher Geena Constantin. ... Alex Noe, who moves in from the outfield to catch, is the only returning starter. Newcomer Lori Duxbury will also see time behind the plate.  ... Chris Byron, who threw for the JV team last year, will be the No. 1 pitcher. ... Freshmen Danielle Silva and Joelle Bechara will start at shortstop and third base, respectively. ... Catherine Burgos played as a sophomore, transferred to Lawrence last year, and then transferred back to PMA.

Coach Steve Stankus (26th year): "This is probably the most inexperienced team I've ever had. We do have a lot of speed, but our pitching is a question | a lot will depend on whether we get some consistency | and it may take us awhile to hit. If we can win half our games with so much inexperience, that would be a good season."
