Andover had to win the final event and the Golden Warriors did just that to leapfrog several teams and capture the Division 1 state relays. Andover had 30 points and BC High, which placed third in the event, settled for second with 28 points.

Hamza Naveed ran a brilliant anchor leg, making up about a 4-yard deficit on Methuen and winning by about five years. The Golden Warriors broke the tape in 3:29.86 to the Rangers' 3:31.53. The other AHS relayers were Jeremy Travaglini, Ray Gorzela and Demetri Kostakis.

Andover got all its points with three wins. The shuttle hurdle (4x50 yards) quartet stole the show with a new all-state record, topping the mark the same four (Sean Caveney, Sebastian Silveira, Justin Mantrana, Andrew Matteucci) set last year.

Travaglini, Caveney, Silveira and Naveed teamed to win the 4x200 as well.
