The Brooks boys basketball team opened its season with a 51-point loss, to Northfield Mount Hermon, and coach John McVeigh was actually encouraged.

"That's probably the best team in the country," said McVeigh. "I actually liked our performance,"

Northfield, which was national champion two years ago, features six players at least 6-foot-8 and at least three Division 1 players. One of them, 6-9 Northwestern-bound Aaron Falzon, scored 13 points Wednesday and was one of seven players in double figures.
