Ratcliffe smacks pair of homers

Freshman Sarah Ratcliffe smacked a pair of home runs in a four-hit afternoon, powering Pelham past Raymond in the New Hampshire Division 3 softball tourney opener, 7-1.
 
Pelham pounced on the visitors with three in the first. Chantal Roussel reached on an error and Ratcliffe singled. Elissa Mogaura singled to drive in one, and Shannon Morin drove in a pair with a hit of her own.
 
That was plenty for starting pitcher Jordan Parece, who dominated over the final seven. Monday at 4:30, Pelham hosts Franklin in the quarterfinals.
