The Whittier Tech softball team crushed Northeast 12-0 in five innings in the Division 3 North first round to advance to Tuesday's quarterfinals at Rockport. The first six batters in the Wildcats' lineup had at least two hits. Andrea Terranova had three hits and scored three runs and winning pitcher Kayla Riley had three RBIs.
Riley struck out eight batters while allowing just one hit and two walks.
Katrina Gallagher was 2 for 2 with a two-run triple.
