St. Mary has Cats number

Whittier Tech has seen plenty of the St. Mary's of Lynn softball team ... Probably too much.
After falling to the Spartans in the North finals a year ago, the Wildcats were beaten, 6-2, by St. Mary's in yesterday's Division 3 North semis.
The Cats scored first, plating a pair on Ashley Wilson's first-inning base hit, but that was all Whittier could manage offensively.

'Cats romp to quarters

The Whittier Tech softball team crushed Northeast 12-0 in five innings in the Division 3 North first round to advance to Tuesday's quarterfinals at Rockport. The first six batters in the Wildcats' lineup had at least two hits. Andrea Terranova had three hits and scored three runs and winning pitcher Kayla Riley had three RBIs.

Freshman Xciana Flores belted a three-run homerun and drove in five runs as part of Whittier's 18-1 drubbing of Greater Lawrence. The dinger was the first of her career. Her teammate Dominique Ortiz equalled her production with a homerun and five RBI of her own.
