Odds and ends: Phillips' lone starter, Kelly Fox, can shoot from long range. She hit six 3-pointers against Tabor last season. ... Shannon Neschke, the lone post-grad, also stood out on the soccer team after a stellar career at Tabor Academy. ... Assistant Christine Cloonan graduated from Phillips in 1998. ... Phillips walloped Brewster, 90-17, in its opener behind 24 points from Canadian Kourtney Diperno.

Coach Lani Boardman (3rd year, 15-22): "I have very high expectations for this group. Missy (Wingard) will carry a lot of the load (on offense). She is a big girl (6-foot-1) that will stay in the paint banging and getting rebounds and scoring. Kelly Fox and Becca Bendetson are very good players and leaders and Hailee Minor is a strong defender. We have five new girls, so it is a very different team than last year's."
