It was coach Cheryl Begin's 100th win (100-66) and she won't soon forget the 3-2 win over Mt. Alvernia. It punched the Cats' ticket to the North semifinals, a first since The Eagle-Tribune began keeping complete records in 1988.
Josie Sanchez's two-out triple in the top of the seventh scored pinch runner Andrea Terranova for the winning run. Kayla Riley got the win on a four-hitter. She got support from Cassey Glode, Lia Zaino and Katrina Gallagher, who each had two hits.
