A youthful Whittier squad showed some jitters on opening day and Stoneham took advantage for a 34-6 victory. The Wildcats suffered three turnovers that the Spartans turned into 22 points as they scored on their first five possessions. A nice 26-yard toss from QB Connor Bradley to sophomore Brandon Lyons in the third quarter netted Whittier its only points.
