Revenge provided Central Catholic girls soccer all the motivation it needed.

Losing to Winchester during the regular season last year and in a scrimmage this preseason, the Raiders turned the tide in a convincing 3-0 Division 1 North quarterfinal victory.

"We came out to play," said Central head coach Casey Grange. "We had a good game plan and we stuck to it."

First the Raiders targeted Winchester's best player and used the defensive tandem of Kylie Regan and Alexa Poulin to shut her down.

And as Maggie Carey, Erin Berube and Stephanie May muted the rest of sixth seeded Winchester's attack, Aly Spencer stepped up with a pair of goals to drive the Raider offense.

With an injury to the starting center back, Brenna Lonneman moved over from center midfield and "played confidently and aggressively," according to Grange.

The third seeded Raiders will battle No. 2 Lincoln-Sudbury in the sectional semifinals tomorrow night at Woburn High.
