North Reading baseball avenged its 3-1 season-opening loss to Hamilton-Wenham by beating the Generals 7-0 behind R.J. Warnock's complete game, three-hit shutout.

Warnock, who suffered the loss in the season-opener, struck out 13 batters. He entered the game with a 0.70 ERA.

Hornets sophomore catcher Keith Linnane threw out two runners and has gunned down seven straight would-be base stealers.
