Central Catholic held on for a wild 9-8, 8-inning win over Methuen, which Raider coach Marc Pelletier called "an instant classic. ... Both teams won it and lost it two times, we just came on top the third time."
Tucker Schell, William Martin and Matt McDermott had RBI hits in the top of the eighth, with Methuen helping with a couple costly errors. The Rangers' Enrique Veras hammered a tape-measure three-run homer into the Methuen tennis courts to make it 9-8 but a highlight film stab and throw by Raider shortstop Cam Devanney ended the game.
